Kotoba Street is a static learning site. It does not provide user accounts, comments, or a contact form on this origin. Its current code stores four items of optional learning data in your browser and loads Google Analytics 4 on HTML pages. This page describes the implementation checked on the date above, without making claims about services that are not defined in this repository.
What stays in your browser
The learning tools below use localStorage, a storage area associated with this site in your browser. Kotoba Street's own code does not include these saved values in its Google Analytics calls or any other network request. The code does not set an expiry date, so a value can remain until the feature overwrites it, you remove it, or your browser clears site data.
kotoba-street-phrasebook-v1stores each saved phrase's Japanese text, rōmaji, English meaning, and source page path so that it can appear in My Phrasebook.kotoba-street-street-check-v1stores the selected result for each Street Check. It restores that selection on the lesson and lets the Roadmap show up to three stored entries.kotoba-street-reading-level-v1stores the selected Rōmaji, Kana, or Kanji reading display.kotoba-street-reading-mode-v1stores the selected Full lesson or Phrase sheet view.
How to remove saved learning data
Choose Clear all phrases on My Phrasebook, then confirm the warning, to remove the phrasebook key. That control does not remove Street Check results or reading settings.
To remove all four keys, delete the stored site data for nihongo.coffeebreakagain.com in your browser's privacy or site-data settings. Menu names differ by browser. Kotoba Street currently has no separate clear button for Street Check results or the two reading-setting keys.
Google Analytics 4
HTML pages use the shared site layout, which currently requests Google's gtag.js script from www.googletagmanager.com and sends Google the measurement ID and standard Analytics configuration call for the page. The repository's default measurement ID is G-4E56112W0Q. Kotoba Street does not currently provide an analytics consent or opt-out control in the page interface.
If a page contains a link marked in its HTML as affiliate or sponsored, the same code sends an affiliate_click event when that link is selected. Its labels describe the service or product, link position, and page type. The event does not include Phrasebook text, Street Check selections, or reading-setting values.
Google's script and its data handling are outside this site's code. You can review the Google Privacy Policy or use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. Browser privacy controls or content blockers may also block the analytics request; the local Phrasebook and reading controls do not require Google Analytics to work.
Hosting requests and logs
Kotoba Street is built as static files and deployed to Xserver. A browser request for a page or asset therefore reaches the hosting infrastructure. This repository contains no hosting-log configuration, so it cannot confirm which requests are logged, which fields are included, who can access them, or how long they are kept.
Contact and external services
There is no contact form on nihongo.coffeebreakagain.com. The contact link opens a separate origin and includes site=nihongo.coffeebreakagain.com in its URL. Information entered there is handled outside the Kotoba Street code described on this page, so review that page before sending information.
Opening the Google links above also moves to a third-party site. Kotoba Street does not control those external pages or define their storage and retention settings.
